The Crestfallen Series is my passion project and the world I have spent the better part of a decade creating, rebuilding, expanding, and refining. What began as a simple fantasy story gradually grew into something far larger: a fully realized world with its own history, mythology, religions, kingdoms, wars, cultures, and generations of characters whose lives intersect across centuries of conflict.

At the center of it all is a planned trilogy—Ashfall, Reignfall, and Knightfall—telling one larger story from different perspectives as the world, its characters, and the conflicts surrounding them evolve. The series begins on a deeply personal scale, following people simply trying to survive the consequences of war, but steadily expands into a much larger story involving kingdoms, political struggles, ancient powers, gods, and the history that shaped the world long before any of its protagonists were born.

Despite its scale, I have always wanted Crestfallen to remain fundamentally human. The battles, mythology, and fantasy elements matter, but the characters have always mattered more. It is a story about grief, love, faith, vengeance, loyalty, forgiveness, ambition, and the choices people make when there is no perfect answer. Heroes can fail. Villains can have reasons for becoming who they are. People can change without being entitled to forgiveness, and sometimes doing the right thing still comes with a terrible cost.

The trilogy is only one part of the world I have planned. Beyond the main story are several potential spin-offs and companion stories exploring characters, conflicts, and periods of history that the trilogy can only briefly touch. Some look backward at the wars and events that shaped the world before Ashfall, while others continue beyond the conclusion of the trilogy and follow characters whose stories are far from over.

More than anything else I am working on, The Crestfallen Series is a world I intend to keep returning to. It has changed enormously alongside me over the years, and I expect it will continue to change as I write it. After nearly a decade of imagining these characters, rewriting their stories, building their history, and asking myself what kind of world they should inhabit, I am finally working toward bringing the complete vision to the page.
